Trish Findlater grew up in Athlone, the midland town on the River Shannon.
After a Art Foundation year in GMIT, Galway city, she spent three years at the Ulster University in Belfast, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art. She won a scholarship to the Fine Art Academy in Antwerp, Belgium, specialising in painting, sculpture, portraiture and the history of art. She graduated with a Masters of Art.
After some years working on her other great interest interior design with a firm of architects she returned to college and gained a degree in Interior Architecture and continued within this career for many years.
After she married her late husband, Alex, they moved to Cong, County Mayo, restoring Glennina house and establishing a perennial and herbaceous garden.
Meanwhile in her studio concentrating on painting, exhibiting her work both in Ireland and internationally.
Trish is also a proud member of Visual Artists Ireland, the representative body for professional artists. They provide practical support to visual artists in all art forms throughout their careers.
