‘Tempest & Tranquillity’ explores the profound and dramatic effects of storms particularly on trees . Through a series of large-scale pastel paintings, I aim to capture both the destructive power of nature and the resilience of our broadleaf and conifer trees in the face of extreme weather. The series will feature a combination of portrait and landscape compositions to emphasize different perspectives, intimate detailed studies of individual trees and sweeping, atmospheric scenes of storm-altered landscapes and the effects of this alteration on the human psyche.
