This was inspired on a fly-fishing trip to the Bahamas. The light in the Caribbean is so different from the light here in Ireland. The sun shines so bright and clear that the land appears totally flat and renders the colours vivid, almost unreal.

The ultramarine blue sky is contrasted sharply with the greens and turquoise of the sea flats. Pinkish and yellow colours of the sand bars appear as they are exposed to the air when the tide goes out to create what the Bahamians call ‘Skinny water’.
